Note: Important! Ethiopian opals are a type of opal that should not get wet because they are "hydrophane," meaning they absorb water and change appearance when they do. If submerged in water, they may temporarily lose their color and turn brown or yellow. The color and "fire" should return once the opals are completely dry, but this can take a day to a few weeks depending on how much water they absorbed.
